PURUSHU ARIE – Fashion Designer, Illustrator, Stylist, NIFTian and an Indian Fashion Blogger based in Chennai.
Apart from fashion blogging, Purushu has written the official fashion show reviews for FDCI Designer Mode magazine for Wills Lifestyle India Fashion Week since SS2012 to AW2013 season and spent the summer of 2012 designing eco-friendly yoga range for FS Asia Marketing, Bangalore. After graduating from NIFT New Delhi, he worked as menswear designer at Burnt Umber & Lee Cooper team in Mumbai. As of July 2014, Purushu quit his day job and relocated to Chennai to completely focus on this blog and Rivista di Moda Fashion Magazine.
Purushu's blog is rated as the most influential blog in Delhi by Hindustan Times and was shortlisted among the top five finalists in Best Fashion Blog category at Blogadda.com WIN14 blogging awards.
Purushu's expertise includes fashion illustration, draping, pattern making, history of costume and fashion and surface development techniques. He is deeply influenced by the artistic expression of fashion and admires Lee McQueen, John Galliano, Rei Kawakubo, Rick Owens, Phoebe Philo, Stella McCartney, Viktor & Rolf and Christopher Kane.
He draws inspiration from the life and work of Leonardo Da Vinci and Vincent Van Gogh with whom he shares his birthday. He is a self confessed sports fanatic and loves Rahul Dravid, Cristiano Ronaldo, Raul Gonzalez, Iker Casillas, Sergio Ramos and Real Madrid CF. His playlist mostly comprises of the evergreen Beatles, Ilayaraja, A R Rahman, classic Rock n Roll and Psychedelic Trance.
